Consumer protection information is mandatory information required by the Texas Real Estate Commission. Every holder of a real estate license, whether a Realtor or a Broker is required to provide you this information. On this page you will find a consumer protection notice and another notice that is entitled, “Information about Brokerage Services.” In traditional real estate transactions you will likely deal with a Realtor. It is important to know that the Realtor has to work for a Broker. It is possible for the Realtor to also have a Broker license and they are considered a Broker/Realtor. Regardless of whom you interact in during the transaction, all authority for the transaction is done at the Broker level. That is why this second notice has “Brokerage Services” in its title.
